Costume
protagonist – he is going to be wearing a light red jumper, as this is a welcoming happy colour, with a scruffy creased shirt under it, to show he is not smart and quite easy-going, and then a pair of jeans to show that he is casual in comparison to a businessman in a suit. All his clothes are lightly coloured, to symbolise that he is good. he will also be wearing the same clothes in fighting scene that the first scene is cross-cut with, to show the audience it is the same character.
Antagonists – They are both going to wear black to represent the darkness in their personalities, and to portray them as evil. One of the hired men is going to be wearing the highly recognisable mask from the film ‘Friday the 13th’. (mask shown below)
Firstly as an intertextual reference the film, as well as to show the characters interest in the topic of the film and the fact he has got the mask, resembling his evil personality. (Travis wearing the mask, shown to the right)
We then had Travis, take off the mask to speak (shown to the left), to make him look more fearless, and to show the mask wasn’t just to hide his appearance, but because he admires the mask and is interested in the sorts of horror films associated with the mask, revealing his horrid personality. This is also an inter-textual reference to the film ‘The Town’.
